Businesses have numerous options, when it comes to upgrading outdated or traditional lighting systems. These days, most companies are looking to improve illumination in the work site by adopting LED luminaries. Replacing fluorescent lamps with LEDs can be achieved using the LED panel light. The units are specifically designed for indoor settings, such as manufacturing floors, control rooms, commercial offices and schools.
LED Panel Light 101
LED panel lights feature a handful of unique properties for robust illumination. Comprised of three layers in its housing, the unit contains the LED chips, a light guide plate and a diffuser. A heat sink component may come with the light, which helps mitigate thermal fluctuations. It is important to note that LED panel lights may incorporate SMD LED chips to boost illuminative performance.
Most LED panel lights are constructed of lightweight aluminum. This helps operators install the fixtures in recessed configurations. The setup offers space-saving benefits for tight work spaces.
From a cost perspective, LED panel lights are less expensive to operate and maintain. The products are capable of meeting the standard 50,000+ hour expected lifespan of LEDs. Furthermore, the solid state lamps can withstand rough impacts better than filament-based luminaries, including incandescent units.
Applications and Considerations
Fluorescent lights are known for their accurate CRI ratings, which is highly preferred by businesses that specialize in product manufacturing, commercial paint spraying services, industrial labs and learning institutions.
Keeping this in mind, LED panel lights should be applied to similar applications.
The two main configurations during installation for the 12v LED lights are recessed mount and suspended ceiling mount. As mentioned earlier, recessed mounting is perfect for promoting a spacious workplace. Suspended ceiling mounts are suitable for overhead illumination over a general workspace or area. For low ceilings, operators can choose to install the unit directly on the ceiling (no suspension).
